Kim-believe's Story

Animator / Director / VFX artist

Los Angeles

Hi! My friends call me “Kim”.

I am a Los Angeles based animator and VFX artist. I am originally from Vietnam, and have moved to the U.S. to pursue my Master degree in Animation at UCLA.

My stories are often inspired by my everyday life experiences. I have lived in different countries of the world at different times in life: I grew up in Vietnam, went to France right after high school, to Australia for college, and then to the U.S. for the American dream. I enjoy making new friends and learning new things wherever I go. Culture change is a challenge I tackle head-on.

I love watching sci-fi movies and TV shows growing up and have always amazed by the magical visual effects in them. I would study their making-off specials and try to recreate the effects with the software I have on hand. In my opinion, VFX artists are the true magicians of the silver screen, or dare I say, “the green screen”.
